Choose whether personal OneDrive files sync into Quorum
The 'Sync personal files' security setting lets workspace admins decide whether personal drives are included in Microsoft 365 sync or only shared site libraries.

Choose whether personal OneDrive files sync into Quorum
Your workspace decides how much of Microsoft 365 Quorum may reach. By default, sync includes personal OneDrive files so briefings can draw on everything people have. If your organisation prefers to keep personal drives out, a single switch limits syncing to shared site libraries.
Where the setting lives
- Open the storage dashboard and choose Connections in the sidebar. This tab is available to workspace admins.
- Find the Security card. It describes what connected document sources are allowed to reach.
- Use the switch labelled Sync personal files ("My Files").
What each position means
On (the default): personal OneDrive files sync into Quorum, so briefings can draw on everything people have. Each person's drive imports under its own folder inside OneDrive, so nothing mixes together.
Off: only shared site libraries sync. People must move files into a site's document library for Quorum to see them. Personal files that were already imported are removed from Quorum on the next sync, so turning the switch off also cleans up what came in before.
When the change takes effect
The setting applies from the next sync pass, which runs automatically about every 15 minutes. When you flip the switch you will see a confirmation: "Personal files will sync" with the note that connected sources include personal drives from the next sync, or "Personal files excluded" with the note that personal-drive files are removed from Quorum on the next sync.
If you want the change applied straight away, run Sync now on the OneDrive / SharePoint connection row.
Who can change it
Only workspace admins can change this setting. Everyone in the workspace can benefit from the clarity though, because the setting makes the boundary explicit: either Quorum works from everything available for the most accurate briefings, or it works only from what your team has deliberately placed in shared libraries.
