Connect Microsoft 365 so your documents flow into Quorum

Connecting Microsoft 365 lets Quorum import the documents your team already keeps in OneDrive and SharePoint, keep them in sync automatically, and use them to build accurate briefings. You connect once, and new and changed files keep flowing in from there on.

Before you start

You need to be a workspace admin in Quorum. If you open the Connections tab without admin rights you will see the message "Document-source connections are managed by workspace admins." You will also sign in with a Microsoft work account during the flow, and at one point a Microsoft 365 administrator from your organisation may need to approve access.

Steps

  1. Open the storage dashboard and choose Connections in the sidebar.
  2. In the Document sources card, find the OneDrive / SharePoint row and select Connect.
  3. Sign in with your Microsoft work account and accept the requested permissions. These cover reading files and sites so Quorum can import documents.
  4. You land back on the Connections tab. A setup window opens and walks you through the rest.

The admin approval step

Quorum scans SharePoint and OneDrive across your whole workspace, and Microsoft requires a one-time approval from a Microsoft 365 administrator for that. If your organisation has not granted it yet, the setup window shows Admin approval needed and the connection row shows the badge Awaiting admin approval.

The window gives you a link with Copy link and Open link buttons. Send the link to your Microsoft 365 admin, or open it yourself if you are one. The admin signs in, chooses Accept, and that is it. Quorum checks for the approval every minute and starts the scan automatically the moment it lands, so nobody needs to come back and press anything.

The first scan

Once approved, the window switches to Scanning your Microsoft 365. It first finds your SharePoint sites and OneDrive libraries, then shows live progress as files import. You can close this window at any time. Files keep scanning in the background and appear in your library as they import.

When the scan finishes you will see a summary titled Nice one! telling you how many files were found across your SharePoint sites and OneDrives. They are indexed so briefings and search can draw on them, and new and changed files keep syncing automatically from here on.

After connecting

The connection row shows its current state with a badge: Connected, Scanning, Awaiting admin approval, or Sync error. Below the badge you can see how many files are tracked and when the last sync ran. The row also offers Sync now to run a pass immediately, Force resync to re-walk everything from scratch, and Disconnect to stop syncing.

If you ever disconnect and later reconnect, Quorum recognises files it already imported by their content, so nothing gets duplicated and syncing picks up where it left off.
