Upload files and folders directly to Quorum storage

Uploading directly is the fastest way to get documents into Quorum when they are not already in a connected source. Anything you upload is stored securely in your workspace and indexed automatically so briefings and search can use it.

Three ways to upload

  1. Drag and drop. Drop files anywhere on the Files page. The whole page is a drop target, so you do not have to aim at a specific zone. While dragging you will see "Drop files to upload" with the name of the folder or workspace the files will land in.
  2. The Upload button. Select Upload in the top right of the Files page and pick one or more files.
  3. The Upload folder button. Select Upload folder to pick an entire folder. Its subfolder structure is preserved inside Quorum.

Uploads land in the folder you are currently viewing, so open the right folder first if you want things filed straight away. You can always move files later.

Limits and formats

Each file can be up to 100 MB. Any file type can be stored. Documents Quorum can read as text, including PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument formats, text, Markdown and CSV, are also indexed for search and briefings. Images, audio, video and archives are stored safely but their content is not read.

What happens after an upload

Your file is stored immediately and then indexed in the background. While indexing runs you will see a small spinner in place of the file's type icon. This usually takes a few seconds. Once it finishes, the file's content is available to search and briefings.

If something goes wrong during indexing, a small warning triangle appears next to the file name. Hover over it to see what happened. The file itself is still stored and downloadable even when indexing had trouble.

Who can upload

Workspace members and admins can upload files. If you cannot see the Upload buttons, your account may not have write access in this workspace. Ask a workspace admin if you believe that is a mistake.
