Add users to your workspace
Bringing your team into Quorum means everyone gets briefing podcasts personalised to them. Workspace owners and admins add members from the Users page in the Account app.
Before you start
You need the Owner or Admin role. Members see the Users page only in read mode, with a note that admin access is needed to create users.
Steps
- In the Account app, open Users and select New user.
- Enter the member's Display name and Email.
- Enter a Password of at least 8 characters. This is the password the member will sign in with first.
- Pick a Role: Member, Tenant admin, or Service bot. New users default to Member.
- Optionally tick Require user to change password on login. The member must then set a password of their own the first time they sign in, which we recommend for every human account.
- Optionally tick Email initial login credentials to user. Quorum emails them their workspace, email, and temporary password, together with a sign-in link that already has your workspace filled in. This option is only available together with the password change requirement, because an emailed password should always be temporary.
- Select Create user.
You will see a confirmation such as "Jane was added and emailed their sign-in details". If the email could not be sent, the user still exists and you can resend the invite from their Manage dialog.
If the person already has a Quorum account
People can belong to more than one workspace. When you add an email that already has a Quorum account, that existing user joins your workspace and keeps their own password. The password you typed is not used and no credentials email is sent, so there is nothing new for them to remember.
What the invited member experiences
The email arrives with the subject "Your Quorum account is ready". It lists their workspace, email, and temporary password, and explains that they will be asked to set a password of their own when they first sign in. The sign-in button lands them on the sign-in page with your workspace already pinned.
Keeping an eye on new members
The Users page shows a Last accessed column for every member. Someone who has not yet signed in shows Never, which makes it easy to spot invitations that have not been picked up so you can resend them.
